All customers using Pine Tree Networks' Broadband Services and Basic Dial-Up Internet Services in Maine are provided with up to 5MB of space on our home page server for their personal use. This service is available to you as soon as your account is set up.

All content posted on our personal web page server is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, and approval by Pine Tree Networks.

Because it is our goal to sponsor a family friendly environment, web sites containing hate related messages, adult content, violence, and other types of objectionable material may be removed from our pages at the discretion of Pine Tree Networks Management.

In order to use your personal web space, you must first create a web page. A simple web site can be created using a word processing program like Microsoft Word. There are also special programs called html editors that can help intermediate users create more sophisticated web pages, including Microsoft Front Page.

There are many great resources for beginners on the Internet. Some of the best are set up by schools to help teaches create web pages for their classes. Here are a few examples to get you started:

Once you have created your web page, you need to upload it to your site using an FTP program. Some HTML editors have FTP capabilities built in, or you can download free FTP software from a number of sources. A few popular programs include:

Once you've created your web site and selected and installed an FTP program, you should use the following information to upload your content.

Once you have logged in, navigate to the public_html directory and upload your content.

When you've finished uploading your web site, you can view it at the following location in your web browser:
